Yummy

I'm still a little behind, but we're getting closer.... A couple weeks ago he started rice cereal, which of course was a big hit. Lets face it, the kid likes to eat. I had been waiting for this day a long time....Noah didn't disappoint. There was plenty of silly faces and squeals.

Obviously we'll have to work on the whole "keepin' your feet off the table" thing.

The rice cereal was a hit, but for now he's still mainly a.........

My little talker.....

We have been crazy busy the last couple of weeks. I started a new job this week, we have had family in town, and Noah gets bigger and more adorable every day. I have so many pictures to post. Noah had this 3 month pictures taken. I can't wait to get a look at them. I'll post them as soon as I get them. I am not sure we got many smiles out of him during the photo shoot. He is a happy little guy, but he definitely has a strong, serious side. He's a thinker.

Mr. Serious

Noah is now jabbering away. We have heard him laugh only a couple of times and to be honest the first and hardest laugh we heard occurred while he was sleeping. I can't wait to get some more out of him. He used to make you work pretty hard for a smile, but now he hands the smiles out pretty easily. We're hoping the same thing will happen with laughing.

About a week or so ago, John joined Monkey Bear on the floor for tummy time. Noah was extremely "talkative" with Daddy. We were lucky enough to catch it on video.

Just thinking....

Today my grandma passed away. She had been sick for quite some time so, in a way, I was relieved God called her home. On Friday, my mom, sister and I went to the nursing home to spend some time with her. We had been told that she didn't have much time left. My mother and her mother often had a strained and complicated relationship. All of this has made me think a lot lately about what it means to be a mother. Since having Noah, I have such a greater appreciation for my mom. I have only been a mommy for a little over three months, but there is something so powerful about a mother's love. I have never experienced any feeling like it in my life. Words truly can't express how much I love my little guy. When he smiles, I feel like my heart could explode. I have no doubt my mother feels the same way about me even though I am an adult.
My mom refuses to drive on the highway or learn anything about technology (she still can't figure out how to work the remote control to the TV). She has fallen asleep while talking to me on the phone more than once and didn't figure out I was lactose intolerant until I was in the first grade....(yes, that means no one wanted to sit by me in the first grade). Despite all of this....I wouldn't trade her for any other. My mommy is compassionate, giving, selfless, courageous, complicated, crazy, funny, beautiful, wise, and kind. She has taught me what it means to be family, how to forgive, how NOT to drive, how to love unconditionally, and maybe most importantly that I can do anything I set my mind to. She centered her world around her children. She made being Mommy her identity. She has always been there for me, even when I didn't deserve it. She is a great mother and a fabulous grandmother. Noah and I are lucky to have her. There is a pretty good chance she wont see this since she refuses to learn how to "work" the computer. But just in case my little sister or Dad shows her......Mommy, thank you for everything, but especially for teaching me what it means to be mommy. I love you!

Easter....I know....it was last month.

I am getting caught up this weak. I swear. So Easter was good stuff....church and family fun stuff. Noah's first Easter basket consisted of one chocolate bunny (which Mommy ate on his behalf), some books and teething toys. As you can see, the excitement of Easter didn't keep him from getting some sleep.

Once awake, he sure was happy it was Easter.

Noah didn't get to participate in the hunting of eggs but I know he'll be a contender next year. This year he sat back with Daddy and Papa to cheer on his cousins. By "cheer", I of course mean sleep.

A couple of weeks before Easter, Lindsay and I took Noah and Emma on a shopping excursion which also included a trip to visit the Easter bunny. As you can see Noah wasn't too thrilled about having to sit with a giant rabbit.

Happy Belated Easter Everbunny!!!

Busy, busy, busy....

Geez....its been a long time since I posted. Doesn't seem like there are enough hours in the day now that I am back to work. Not to mention all of the exciting stuff going on. I'll probably have to post a couple times this weekend to get all caught up.

Noah had his 2 month check up at the beginning of this month. He weighed in at 10 pounds and 10 ounces, but he has to be at least a couple pounds heavier now because those cheeks are really starting to fill out.

He had his first big outing a couple of weeks ago. He went to Disney on Ice with his cousin Emma. He loved the lights and music.

Emma loves her baby cousin. She always wants to hold him and help change his diapers. I got some cute pics of her helping with bath time.

Emma couldn't wait for Noah to start taking bottles so she could help feed him. One day a couple of weeks ago, I was nursing Noah and Emma said "Aunt Traci.....I wish I had milk holders so I could feed Noah" LOL.

She's gonna be an excellent big sister!!

Next up.....Easter pics.

Week of Firsts

This week Noah really started smiling. I caught a couple on video and snapped a few pics. I feel like I have been waiting for this smile forever even though that is ridiculous since he is just 8 weeks old. Funny how one smile can make all the sleepless nights totally worth it.

Noah also started to really coo this week. I haven't caught it on video yet but I caught him mid-coo in this pic.

This one doesn't include a smile, but I love this picture. Can you tell who he gets the crazy eyes from?

Noah also started going to Ms. Tamara's this week. We did a couple of trial runs and it seemed to go pretty smoothly. The first day I managed to keep him there 2 hours, which was much longer than I thought I would be capable of. Yesterday I dropped him off and he stayed until 2pm. I have a feeling Monday will be different though. Monday it's real. Hopefully I make it out of her driveway.

Friday night was also the first time we got a babysitter and went out for some much needed adult time. Grandma Greear came to stay with Noah. Of course, we needed a special outfit for her.

It was definitely a big week for Noah. Maybe next week I'll be able to blog that he is sleeping through the night. LOL, a girl can dream.

My new favorite letter is Z for ZZZzzzzz

I hate to jinx myself but could this be the beginning of me actually sleeping again??? Do I dare believe this is the light at the end of the tunnel? Tonight for the first time in 7 weeks, which would be his entire life thus far, my son went to sleep without any type of fight at all. No crying. Not a peep. It was diaper change, PJ's, feeding...then lights out. Could we be turning some sort of corner? What happened to the endless screaming from around 7 pm to midnight? Never mind....I don't want to know. I just hope this means its over. In honor of this milestone, here are a few of my favorite pics of Noah sleeping.

If it were a bottle of Miller Lite instead of pacifier, he'd look just like his Daddy does when he falls asleep on a Friday night.

You know you move a lot in your sleep when one of your socks end up near your armpit.

Good night everyone!
